2. Quotations

  • All quotations are provided in writing and are valid for 30 days from the date of issue, unless otherwise stated.
  • Quotations are based on the information available at the time. If additional work is required due to unforeseen circumstances discovered during the job (such as concealed faults, non-standard installations, or inaccessible cable routes), we will notify you before proceeding and agree a revised price.
  • Quotations are for the specific scope of work described. Any additional work requested will be quoted separately.
  • VAT, where applicable, will be shown separately on the quotation.

3. Booking and Cancellation

  • To confirm a booking, you will be asked to confirm acceptance of the quotation in writing (email is acceptable).
  • For larger jobs (rewires, EV charger installations, consumer unit upgrades), a deposit of up to 25% of the quoted price may be required to secure the booking.
  • Cancellations must be notified at least 48 hours before the agreed start date. Cancellations within 48 hours may be subject to a cancellation charge to cover costs already incurred, including materials ordered specifically for the job.
  • We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule appointments in exceptional circumstances. We will provide as much notice as possible.

4. Your Responsibilities

To enable us to carry out work efficiently and safely, you agree to:

  • Provide clear and safe access to all areas of the property required to carry out the work, including loft spaces, underfloor areas, and outbuildings.
  • Ensure the property is occupied by an adult (18+) throughout the working period, or make other agreed access arrangements.
  • Disclose any known hazards at the property, including asbestos, known wiring defects, or any previous electrical work carried out without certification.
  • Provide information about any relevant planning or permitted development restrictions that may affect the work.
  • Clear working areas of furniture and personal items as instructed prior to the work commencing.

5. Our Responsibilities

  • All work will be carried out by qualified electricians in accordance with BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations, current edition) and all applicable Building Regulations.
  • We will take reasonable care of your property and clean up our working areas daily.
  • We will notify you promptly of any unforeseen issues that affect the scope, timescale, or cost of the work.
  • We will issue appropriate electrical certificates on completion of all notifiable work and register the work with the relevant authority.

6. Payment

  • Payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date, unless otherwise agreed in writing.
  • We accept payment by bank transfer. Details will be provided on the invoice.
  • For larger jobs, staged payments (milestone payments) may be agreed in the quotation.
  • Late payment may be subject to interest at 8% per annum above the Bank of England base rate, in accordance with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts Act 1998.
  • Electrical certificates will not be issued until payment has been received in full.

7. Guarantee and Defects

  • All workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months from the date of completion. If a defect arises within this period that is attributable to our workmanship, we will return and rectify it at no charge.
  • The guarantee does not cover defects arising from fair wear and tear, misuse, damage caused by third parties, or faults in materials supplied by the client.
  • Materials supplied by DP Power Solutions carry the manufacturer's guarantee, which may extend beyond our 12-month workmanship guarantee. We will assist in pursuing manufacturer warranty claims where appropriate.

8. Limitation of Liability

  • Our total liability to you for any claim arising from the services provided shall not exceed the total amount paid for the relevant job.
  • We shall not be liable for any indirect or consequential losses, including loss of use, loss of income, or costs of alternative accommodation, unless caused by our negligence.
  • Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud.

9. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page. Changes will not affect existing accepted quotations.
